Looks like the score will be close to the following:
CW QSOs = 426
SSB QSOs = 116
Total QSOs = 542
CW mults = 60
SSB mults = 70
Total mults = 130
Score 125,840 points
I got off to a very slow start trying to get something going on SSB. Then I discovered that the 80 meter antenna wouldn't tune and I spent over an hour solving this problem. It was working fine in my driveway on Friday night but the first time I tried to use it in the contest I could tell right away that something was wrong. Without 80 CW there is no contest, so I had to spend time to fix this.
On the positive side, I had my best ever run on 75 SSB - nearly 60 stations in the space of about 40 minutes and most of them from Ohio. This helped me to build my SSB county total to 43, the best I have ever done. Including both CW and SSB I worked 55 counties.
Due to the 75 meter run, I stayed in Seneca a lot longer than planned, and this, combined with the time lost troubleshooting my antenna problem, meant that I was about two hours behind my route plan. So instead of operating from 13 counties, I only made it to 8, and I ended up the contest nearly 1:15 from home.
Despite the problems, it was a fun day with more lessons learned and some nice memories.
More details later in my 3830 report.
Thanks for all the contacts!
73, Hal W1NN
