[OhQP-mail] OhQP 80 Meter Mobile Window

Over the years we've not established "mobile windows", intended to give the relatively weak mobile ops a clear space. Those windows are hard to keep clear, especially on SSB where there are lots of non-OhQP stations floating around. And in most cases on CW it's not to hard for a mobile op to find a clear frequency.

There is, however, one exception to this. Given the low solar activity it is quite likely there will be little or no short skip on 40 meters, making it difficult for people in Ohio and nearby states to work in-state mobiles, until 80 meter activity picks up in the evening.

So to facilitate 80 meter daytime activity by the mobiles, during the daytime hours please keep 3545 KHz +/- 0,5 KHz or so clear for mobile stations. That way a mobile can make a brief appearance there, and be easily found by other stations. And likewise, if a fixed station can monitor or make frequent checks of 3545, any activity there will involve a mobile, and quite possibly be a new multiplier in a rare county.

Once 80 meter propagation picks up in the evening, after 6 pm or so, this will not be so important. But during the day please keep 3545 clear for the mobiles. And hopefully you will be able to work a lot of them in a lot of Ohio counties!
