Operated Field Day last year from Cowan Lake with no trouble in 2014 and have operated portable there many times in the past. I will be there in 2 weeks for 4 days of camping and plan on taking the Kenwood and a couple wires with me. I will advise if there are any RFI issues.
Just in your planning take in to account that many trees there have been cut down due to the emerald ash borer infestation. The 1-60 loop and the old pet loop (lake side of the main drive between the camp store and the cabins) still have lots of trees but the big oval in the middle and the 112-130 leg that goes toward the lake from the oval are pretty bare. Still got trees along the back side of the sites that are not in the middle of the oval, but the rest are pretty well gone.

Subject: [OhQP-mail] N8Q plans for Clinton County
I just submitted a request for use of N8Q for the Ohio QSO party. I
hope to get permission to use it. If I don't get it, I'll use my
generic N8XX call, which is probably more recognizable.
I'm looking for a good place to operate in Clinton County. Any ideas?
There's a couple state parks in the county, but I'm wondering about the
RFI noise in a campground these daze?
I could take a generator to a state wildlife refuge, and be clear of
most RFI generating items.
Any idea from the assembled multitude?
