It is never to early to start thinking of your plans for operating in
the 2013 7th Call Area QSO Party, set for May 4th 1300Z Saturday, to May
5th 0700Z Sunday. A few new items to note:

There is a new 7QP web site so change your bookmarks -

This year the organizers have split the Mobile and the County
Expedition categories. Here's the latest scoop:

=======================
Season's Greetings!

After considering several suggestions, the 7QP rules committee has
split the County Expedition and Mobile categories. This should level
the playing field a bit in these categories. Complete rules are on the
7QP web page.

7th-area County Expedition (an operation from a temporary location
using antennas installed for the contest period, using temporary
supports or trees): single-county, county-line (must be within 500
feet of the line); single-op, multi-single, multi-multi

Mobile (station must be self-contained and capable of motion)

   a. single-op (one person, unassisted, performs all operating,
logging and driving functions and, for safety reasons, may operate
only while parked)

   b. multi-op (any other mobile operation)

Power: high-power, low-power, QRP

Mode: CW, Phone, Digital, Mixed

I hope this works to foster more single op mobile and more county
expeditions. This change will be communicated to the various log
programmers and all the magazine and web-based contest calendars.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
